Yes, indeed: This is really happening. That's Nets head coach Kiki Vandeweghe, the face of a new sweepstakes involving the Nets.
You can sign up here, and the grand prize is described like so:
attendance at a morning practice at the Nets training facility; official team training gear; lunch with a Nets team executive to be selected by the Nets in its sole discretion; attendance at the Nets pre-game shoot around, at which Winner will assist coaches with pre-game drills; pre-game dinner in Winners’ Club restaurant at the IZOD Center; two premium tickets to the Nets game; tour of the Nets locker room; and attendance at post-game press conference.
So the winner won't actually coach the Nets for a day, but he'll help with pregame drills, attend the postgame press conference, and further chip away at any last vestiges of dignity among the Nets players and coaches.
The Nets are living a sports comedy—hapless, desperate, written off by their fans. They are the nation's punchline. So you know what? Maybe they should hire a fan as their head coach. It worked wonders for the Knicks...
