[Olympic torch with a mittens-wearing dinosaur, via the crucial Big Picture blog.]
The Olympic torch, you may have heard, is winding its way through Canada (stopping today in North Vancouver), and is just two days from arrival at the Opening Ceremonies. (Speculation over who will carry it on the final leg is afoot, if you're into that sort of thing, although who knows how they'll top Shania Twain.) It made a brief dip into the States yesterday, but will otherwise remain within Canadian borders, because Canada's government is exactly like China's when it comes to human rights and apparently keeping the torch in-house will totally fix all those protests from the Summer '08 games. (Do these people know about the PETA seal pins?)
