With talk of a majority stake in the Dallas Stars being offered by Hicks Sports Group, Dallas Stars forward Mike Modano has expressed interest in owning a piece of the team:
Q: Would you be interested in being a part of that ownership group.
Modano: Yeah.
Q: $100 million or so?
Modano: Well, not 100, but I think it would definitely be something I'll talk about.
There also has been talk of Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban expressing interest in part of the majority stake as well. While Cuban does not want to outright own the Stars, having an interest in the team can only help his relationship with the Mavericks as the Stars use American Airlines Center as well. While other teams ownership issues have turned into a circus, this ownership transfer seems to be happening fairly seamlessly.
