Did you know that Danica Patrick has a job that doesn't involve appearing in cheaply sexualized advertising for a domain hosting company? Well, not only does that job involve driving a car, she's clearly just terrible at it, because she got caught up in a multi-car crash during today's NASCAR Nationwide Series race. This was Patrick's first NASCAR race, and she was running 21st at the time of her crash.
But, seriously, Danica's going to be just fine, and not just because she was uninjured in that crash. She's been a ratings boon for stock car racing so far, and her appeal is only going to grow as she jumps from ARCA to NASCAR's Nationwide series. The move to full-time competition in NASCAR's Sprint Cup seems inevitable.
And she's a good driver, too. Watch Patrick saving herself from calamity in last week's ARCA race after the jump.
That puts a little bit of the Danica dismissal in perspective, I think.
