Backes looks great. I wouldn’t say he has no business being on the team. Callahan is a tougher call but neither of them are the worst pick.

I like Backes, but there are a lot of good American centers. But Callahan making that team was an absolute joke. Kyle Okposo is so far superior it’s not even funny.

Fiya Minaya.

by BringBackBobby on Feb 16, 2010 4:14 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah, Okposo may be the snub I’m most upset about. It’s a tough call between Dubinsky and Callahan and then again between Oshie and Backes. I’m not upset about how they picked those guys though.

Killer_Carlson and Steckel Me Elmo are like brothers to me. And when I say brothers I don't mean like actual brothers. I mean it like how black people use it, which is more meaningful, I think.

by Rob Parker on Feb 16, 2010 4:15 PM EST up reply actions

I’m guessing it has something to do with their respective hit totals. Also, the difference between the two (as they currently exist) is not what Isles fans would have us believe. The US has a glut of that teir of versatile player (Callahan, Okposo, Oshie, Gaustad…I’m sure I’m missing some) who all would have been solid choices.

Anyone else surprised the IOC didn’t demand royalties from Miller for having the Olympic rings on his mask?

by Bryan Reynolds on Feb 16, 2010 4:40 PM EST reply actions

No? They have filed lawsuits against the use of the word “Olympics” and for use of the logo in far less visible places.

by Bryan Reynolds on Feb 16, 2010 4:42 PM EST up reply actions

Now that you mention it. I have a hard time determining whether the IOC or NCAA is more horribly run.

its a Ron Wilson coached team

Can’t say I’m surprised, considering the Leafs’ PK.

for those of you who don’t watch the Leafs, RW likes to employ this collapsing style of defense that is probably the most hated thing in my life. You had better hope Miller has A+ rebound control against Canada and in the medal round, or else the US will spend a lot of time in their own end.
