A pretty simple play has put Canada up 2-0 less than a minute into the second period, and the familiarity between the three players on the ice is at least partially to blame for the goal.
Joe Thornton released a booming slap shot from the top of the circle while Dany Heatley screened Jonas Hiller. The shot caught Heatley in the side and Hiller couldn't pin point it. It was right at Heatley's side where Patrick Marleau stepped up and banged the loose puck into the empty net.
The San Jose Sharks connect. 2-0 Canada. Switzerland can't afford to go down by three.
