Olympic Hockey: USA vs Norway Game Thread

3 PM ET / Noon PT : United States vs Norway in Group A action

Broadcast details: Live coverage on USA Network

With fans from all over SB Nation and beyond joining forces to root on the United States, or whichever country they prefer, we decided what better place to gather together to discuss the hockey games than right here on SBNation.com.

Today, the United States takes on Norway as the continue to build chemistry and momentum for the much bigger games that lie ahead. That's not to say that Norway is a wash, but if the Americans have any hope of upsetting Canada they'll have to build off of a convincing win today.

Always the indomitable Ryan Suter to watch for, though. One of the league’s more underrated D.

natch.

I was working at an obscene hour this morning and had the Hodge Stove League on in the background, with Brian Burke on. I have to hand it to him: he had me convinced the US was going to win gold. Not just play for a medal. He seems like someone I’d want to play for.

Not Olympic related but a Leafs prospect scored 35 points in 15 games in the QMJHL playoffs last year before he ran into the end boards and shattered his thigh. He played his first game since May of 2009 last night and scored 1G 3A in a 4-2 win. Inspiring stuff.
