Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans has had a pretty unbelievable season so far. He's already the clear-cut choice for NBA rookie of the year, and yesterday, by trading Kevin Martin, the Kings essentially put their franchise in the hands of Tyreke Evans. A coronation of sorts. And later Thursday?
He dined with President Obama, naturally:
He dined with President Barack Obama at the president's request. Sources told KCRA 3 the two shared a meal at the Las Vegas home of Kings owner George Maloof. Obama told the Maloofs to draft Evans when he was playing for the University of Memphis.
So not only did Tyreke dine with Obama, but it was at the President's request? Ordinarily, reality checks are supposed to bring 20 year-olds crashing down to earth, but... Damn. That's pretty big time. Reality check, 'Reke: you're the future of this franchise. Now meet the President of the United States.
And as for Barack—lobbying for the Kings to draft him, asking him on dinner dates—it sounds like the President needs a new t-shirt:
