Great Britain has won its first gold medal of the Vancouver Olympic Games, and only its eighth in Winter Olympics history. Skeleton sledder Amy Williams made an exceptional final run to win the gold over Germany's Kerstin Szymkowiak. Anja Huber, also from Germany, took the bronze.

The top-ranking American was Noelle Pikus-Pace, who finished 0.82 seconds behind in the final standings. American Katie Uhlaender finished 11th.
