Goaltenders Niklas Backstrom and Josh Harding have been staples in net for the Wild in the past few years. In fact, the pair have played in the last 235 games. That streak ends tonight as journeyman goaltender Wade Dubielewicz will make the start for the Wild after Josh Harding aggravated his hip during warmups. Wild beat writer, Michael Russo, has this to say:
Manny Fernandez was the last non-Backstrom, non-Harding start March 6, 2007. The Wild's the only NHL team to use two goalies in that span (St. Louis has used an NHL-high 10).
Dubielewicz has played in a total of 40 NHL games in his five year career. His only appearance against the Dallas Stars was a 7-3 loss in which he allowed four goals on 23 shots.
