The men's 1500 meter speed skating competition just concluded, and for the second straight Winter Olympics, Shani Davis will have to settle for silver in the 1500. He was bested by Mark Tuitert of the Netherlands, who finished with a time of 1:45.57. It was Tuitert's first gold medal, and considered a pretty significant upset.
Davis finished just .53 seconds behind him with a time of 1:46.10. The bronze medal went to Bokko Harvard of Norway. Be sure to check back later tonight for more results from Vancouver, as Apollo Ohno goes for yet another gold medal in the 1000 m event.
