Ryan Miller stood on his head in the final five minutes of play as Canada turned the USA defensive end into a shooting gallery. Miller and the Americans made save after save, blocked shot after shot, and with a little bit of luck were able to hold off the fury of the home team.
Ryan Kesler’s diving empty net goal with 45 seconds remaining sealed the upset victory for the scrappy young American club and silenced the crowd at Canada Hockey Place.
