Midway through its 11 p.m. edition of SportsCenter, ESPN decided it would be interesting to get Eagles running back Brian Westbrook's own take on the news that the Eagles planned to release him. Which is cool, of course, because anytime you can get that sort of real-time feedback from someone so close to the story, you do it.
As it turned out, though, the caller wasn't Brian Westbrook, but rather Captain Janks from The Howard Stern Show pretending to be Brian Westbrook. Here's the video in all it's glory.
Well then, I'm guessing some call-in screener is having a stern talk with his or her boss right about now, if they haven't been fired already.
The better question is, when was it more obvious this was a prank caller? Was it when he decided to call in at such a late hour in the first place? Was it when he interrupted Scott Van Pelt's question to say "How you doin' Scott?" Was it some other time? Surely it was before he said he was from The Howard Stern Show.
