The following story is not true, but worth a chuckle nonetheless.
Everyone's favorite publication (also not true), the National Enquirer, is reporting that Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Danica Patrick are in a "bitter feud."
Patrick, of course, has just begun her NASCAR career driving for Earnhardt Jr.'s Nationwide Series team. But the Enquirer "reports" that Junior is pissed because Danica has been bad-mouthing him to others.
"Dale is livid at Danica for talking trash about him behind his back," revealed a source. "He feels he's giving her entrance into the NASCAR world and teaching her his tricks - and she's saying how she can beat him.
"It's rubbing Dale the wrong way. He hates being bad-mouthed by somebody he feels owes him gratitude."
I don't care if the Enquirer broke the Tiger Woods story and the John Edwards scandal. The publication has been consistently off when talking about NASCAR.
A few months ago, it reported Earnhardt Jr. was in a "death spiral" and friends feared for his well-being. That turned out to be false, obviously. The dude has been his normal self more often than not.
Danica handled the negotiations strictly through Dale Jr.'s sister Kelley. And Junior has often said he's hardly spoken to Danica, except to offer a few bits of advice here and there.
So when the Enquirer says Dale Jr. has been Danica's "mentor" and that he "groomed her for NASCAR," take it for what it's worth.

Speed, and the media doesn’t seem to understand, you are driving fans away with all the media about her………………..I CAN’T STAND TO HEAR HER NAME…………………BARF at the beginning, I thought wow good deal, now that I hear nothing except DP all the time, I hate her, not her fault the fault is who ever is paying all the money to shove her down our throats, all the time, I turn off the sound, and listen to my MP3 player because I want to keep watching Nationwide series but she is the only driver and we watch her sit in her seat in that fricken gd car and ask questions. NOT ANY FUN ON THIS END, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GET IT. YOU ARE MAKING ENEMY’S OF ALL THE WOMEN WATCHING, I’m a woman drove truck for over 30 years, solo so I know all about working in a mans world. Sometimes, saying nothing is better than every 2 minutes we have to hear someone say her name. We arn’t stupid I know speed gets paid to say her name, they must have made billions by now..QUIT PLEASE
