The NHL tried billing this game as another staple in the rivalry between Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin. But somehow, despite 10 goals total through two periods, neither super star has a point. In fact, Ovechkin is a minus-three and Crosby is even in the game.
File that in the 'didn't see that one coming' folder.
Maybe it'll change in the third period, but when you think about it, it's certainly part of the reason Russia is so far behind the eight-ball in this game. They need Ovechkin to get going. On the flip side, it's really a continuation of a pretty weak tournament so far for Sid the Kid.
