The Calgary Flames put pen to paper on Thursday, completing a multiple-year contract for left winger Rene Bourque with the terms being undetermined.
In his second season with the team, the 28-year-old has already reached new highs in assists (23), points (41) and is four goals shy of surpassing his best previous total.
A terrific two-way player, he is second on the Flames in scoring trailing captain Jarome Iginla. It's been a disappointing campaign for the organization after 62 games, but Bourque has been one of the few exceptions to that. Acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks on July 1, 2008 for a conditional draft pick, he has become a steal for Calgary.
