An Inane Curling Observation

Just a quick thought as I watch Olympic curling on Friday night. Over the last few weeks I have come to appreciate curling as an interesting competition. It involves skill and strategy, and the basics are not difficult to grasp -- three qualities I value in a sport.

I say that because I don't want to disparage this fine sport with the asinine observation I'm about to share. I heard the Swedish team shout in a language I don't understand as the curling stone slid slowly across the ice. It sounded as though they were shouting at the stone itself. And for a moment, all I could think was, "ouija board."
