Cross-Country Medal Event: Norway's Northug Wins Grueling 50K

On Sunday, the men's 50K cross-country medal event -- possibly the most grueling event of the Winter Games -- was won by Norway's Petter Northug. who finished with a 2:05:35.5 time.

Even in the last 100 meters, the pack was very close. Axel Teichmann of Germany took the silver, finishing a mere 0.3 seconds behind. The bronze went to Sweden's Johan Olsson, who finished 1.0 seconds behind.

Switzerland's Dario Cologna failed to win a medal, and in devastating fashion. With only about 100 meters to go, Cologna, who was in second place, lost his balance and fell. He finished in tenth place
