So in case you haven't heard, another coach was fired stepped down yesterday in the NBA. As we've mentioned before, this only leads to the inevitable next step in the process, which occurs when a New York-area paper talks to former Knicks legend Patrick Ewing and lets him declare his candidacy even though there are far more qualified assistants out there.
What's that? Ewing actually has news for us this time? Wow! He has an agent now! Big news! Plus, he's coaching in the Rookie/Sophomore game! See, he's moving up the ladder! Any day now, Knicks fans!
Oh, and there's this:
Ewing said he was well prepared, and a bit puzzled by the lack of interest from N.B.A. executives.
"That's one of the reasons why I hired Lonnie [his agent]," he said. "It's his job to push the buttons, knock on doors and do everything possible that he can do to get me interviews. Hopefully, things will work out and I'm able to break down that barrier."
Okay, nevermind. Business as usual in the NBA coaching carousel. Move along.
