What Happens In Vegas On Super Bowl Weekend…

↵What's the slogan? What happens in Vegas, ends up on sports blogs? Well, this weekend that's the case. While Chris and Mike are in Miami – as I said before, the Crockett and Tubbs of TSB – I have the great fortune of flying to Las Vegas to hang out with celebrities and play poker for charity over Super Bowl Weekend. Celebrities? Vegas? Poker? Indeed. ↵

↵I was invited, along with a bloggy friend, to take part in the Trash Talk Championship of the World, which is a $1000-buy in no-limit holdem event at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Vegas. The money will go to benefit the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai. The particulars: ↵

↵
↵⇥Master of ceremonies will be Michael Godard, a modern artist who dedicates himself to philanthropic causes through his work. Half of the prize pool will go to charity, the other half will be distributed, along with valuable prizes, to winners. The Trash Talk Champion of the World will win cash, a 20-pound custom designed crystal trophy, and a World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational seat in Los Angeles, sponsored by Commerce Casino and ClubWPT.com. ↵⇥

↵⇥Players putting their money where their mouths are include actor Lou Diamond Phillips, “The Voice of Bart Simpson” Nancy Cartwright, “The Sopranos” Robert Iler, “Dukes of Hazzard” April Scott, Playboy Playmates Sara Underwood, Jessica Burciaga and Jessa Lynn Hinton, “Saved by the Bell” Dennis Haskins, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” Cheryl Hines, actor/producer Joe Reitman, “The Amazing Race Team” Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho, professional poker players Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiary, “Rodeo King” turned poker pro Lee Markholt, Dan “Blitz” Bilzerian, High Stakes Poker guest Andrew Robl, “Who’s Your Daddy” CEO Dan Fleyshman, WSOP Champion Paul Wasicka and more. ↵⇥

↵
↵I qualify as "and more" which, frankly, I'm totally fine with. And yes, you read that list right; Mr. Belding will be playing! So, too, will be Josh Zerkle of With Leather and KSK who won an online poll to be the lucky blogger to accompany me on this ridiculously fortunate opportunity. Oh, and if that's not enough, tonight they'll be running a $100-200 NL cash game (minimum buy-in is 50 grand) and a whole red carpet thing leading up to Saturday's tournament, with tons of media set to cover it and hole card cameras and everything. Josh and I, assuming we can both get out of this pending snow storm about to crush the eastern seaboard in time, hope to have tons of video and photos from the event. Plus more fun over the weekend as I'll be filing from Vegas with other Super Bowl-related stuff. ↵

↵For the tournament, you can track all the action on Twitter with the hashtags #trashtalkchamp or #trashtalk. Again, it's all to benefit colon cancer research. And if I win, I'll buy the donuts and coffee on Monday. ↵
