On Saturday, seven new entrants to the Pro Football Hall of Fame were announced. The 2010 class:
Emmitt Smith
Jerry Rice
John Randle
Rickey Jackson
Russ Grimm
Dick LeBeau
Floyd Little
Smith and Rice, of course, were shoo-ins, while some others aren't quite as well known. In case you're not familiar with Rickey Jackson, nola.com is here to instruct you.
He is the first player who spent the bulk of his career with the Saints to be selected for enshrinement.
When he retired in 1995, Jackson ranked third all-time in NFL history with 128 quarterback sacks. He still ranks third in NFL history with 28 recovered fumbles and fourth all-time with 41 forced fumbles. He also broke up 118 passes.
Stay tuned for further reflections on this year's Hall of Fame inductees from SB Nation.
