Warren Sapp Arrested On Battery Charges, Pulled Off Air By NFL Network

Retired defensive tackle Warren Sapp was scheduled to help the NFL Network with its Super Bowl coverage on Sunday, but producers have decided to take him off air. Sapp was arrested Saturday on domestic battery charges, and was released on Sunday morning.

Former NFL star Warren Sapp has been released from jail on US$1,500 bond, a day after being arrested in Miami Beach on charges he choked a woman in his hotel room.

Sapp was charged with one count of misdemeanour domestic battery in the incident early Saturday after a night of partying. He was released at about 11 a.m. Sunday - a time he would have been assisting in the NFL Network's pre-Super Bowl coverage.

Rather than vehemently deny the charges, Sapp's attorney has simply advised everyone to reserve judgment until the facts come out. We will wait to do just that. Stay tuned.
