Florida State announced Sunday that it plans to vacate 12 football victories, including a 2007 bowl win, from Bobby Bowden's tenure. The school will also vacate various athletic achievements and wins from a host of other university sports teams.
Also vacated were 22 men's basketball wins in 2006-07, 16 women's basketball victories in that season and six in the next, and several placings in track and field, swimming, cross country and golf.
The decision comes following the NCAA's choice to uphold Florida State's appeal of a previous ruling to remove victories after 61 athletes were found to be involved in an academic cheating scandal.
