Let's get the Kobe news out of the way. From the LA Times:
Bryant said his status for Wednesday's game against Utah remains a "game-time decision" as well as whether he'll play in the All-Star game this weekend. Nonetheless, trainer Gary Vitti told TNT that Bryant should remain sidelined until after the All-Star break, with Bryant responding, "If I'm not able to play, I won't play. But if I'm healthy, I will. It's as simple as that."
The All-Star Game without Kobe Bryant? It could happen, and it probably should. He needs the rest. And.. Okay so that's the story.
And now, since Lil Wayne's going to prison this afternoon for at least 8 months, we'll honor his impending absence by including Lil Wayne lyrics, songs, and photos in everything we do for the rest of the day. And by we, I mean me.
First up? Wayne's paean to Kobe Bryant, from last year's NBA playoffs.
Black mamba / attack conquer / basketball beast / rap monster ... I drop 40 on ya double team / then I drop 81 on another team
I'm the best, yes, and he the best, yeah / Don't worry Lebron / Get 'em next year
