This past weekend's WEC 47 event on Versus scored a 0.46 household rating and 373,000 viewers, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed.
The ratings were down sharply – 42 percent in all – compared to World Extreme Cagefighting's prior show, WEC 46 (640,000 viewers), which took place in January and benefited from proven draw Urijah Faber and a main-event title-unification bout between Benson Henderson and Jamie Varner.
WEC 45, which took place this past December, drew 330,000 viewers.
- MMA Junkie brings word of the very poor ratings numbers for WEC 47.
WEC 45 was the lowest rating for the promotion in two years, 47 is in second place on that rather dubious list. Versus has been off DirecTV since WEC 43.
The numbers certainly aren't encouraging heading in to the promotion's first PPV effort but that effort is anchored by Urijah Faber who is the one constant in pulling solid numbers. Still, what future does the promotion on TV have if they can not reliably pull solid ratings.

WEC needs to be part of the UFC
The UFC could use 2 more weight classes and guys like the Cowboy, Varner, and Henderson would be great additions to the UFC LW division. I hope the WEC PPV is complete disaster and forces Zuffa to fold the WEC into the UFC.
