Evan Turner In The NBA: Could He Unseat John Wall As The No. 1 Pick?

There's no way John Wall doesn't go number one in the NBA Draft this year. Not a chance. He's been the top 2010 draft prospect for two years now, and he's lived up to every inch of the hype at Kentucky. There's just no wa...

Um, excuse me while I pick my tongue off the floor. Did that really happen? EVAN TURNER!

Again, it's a stretch to think that anyone could unseat John Wall, and don't get me wrong: I've been on the John Wall bandwagon since November. But if Turner can carry Ohio State to the Final Four and possibly a national title, combined with everything else he's done this year—shots like that one, coming back from a broken back after missing just six games, winning the Big Ten—it's sort of a toss-up, right?

Is Turner-Wall the new Oden-Durant?

In the poll below, let us know who you'd take:

awesome shot

but i’m a little underwhelmed seeing it for the first time

the twitter reaction live was like it was the greatest shot of all time, as opposed to an open 35 footer in rhythm

Well, if you watched the last few minutes live, it probably would’ve seemed a little more awesome. Lacking context, yeah, I guess it’s not that unbelievable.

Wow that is just amazing

I still think that Wall will be the #1 pick but now there is a legitimate argument for Turner.

also back injury might scare some teams

but it doesn’t seem to hurt that shot. Although I am afraid it might lead to later injury problems down the line.

I can attest, having seen that shot in person

the video does not do it justice. he was not in rhythm, he took that shot off balance.

it was pretty damn incredible

Today's lesson:

Never underestimate the power of the Trillion Man March.

Or Evan Turner. Where the Internet is concerned, though, that first one’s a biggie.

Great shot but...

I could even see turner going number one over, but i hope its not for that shot. Turner is an amazing basketball player but just like most pro basketball player, its a situational shot. Give it to him again and its another toss up similar to Lebron’s buzzer beater over the magic. Now turner isn’t quite a Lebron yet lol but is very talented and if your not looking for a Derrick Rose/Allen Iverson hybrid that john wall has been so far (i don’t know why your not looking for that, the pistons could sure use it) then turner is looking like the guy for you. Props to turner for the shot but I’m betting on the wildcats to de-throne the Jayhawks in the big dance, no buzzer beaters necessary.
