Just like Virginia Tech, BYU needed to go out and schedule some heavyweights in non-conference play. Their best wins came in conference. SOS 100+.

But when you see every projection as a 4-6 seed then they get a 7 seed, that is what I am referring to.

Looking at CBSSports RPI ranking BYU had a non-conference RPI of 25 which was better then their conference RPI of 35.
