As we begin to process the trade that sent Brady Quinn to the Broncos, it's important to note that the season is still six months away from starting and a lot can change. There's mini-camps, training camp and the possibility of all kinds of injuries that can change the Broncos quarterback situation.
With that said, Kyle Orton is indeed expected to be the starter for the Broncos in 2010.
According to SI's Peter King, Josh McDaniels called Orton following the Quinn trade to assure him that he's their No. 1 quarterback.
That's probably why it wasn't a surprise to hear Orton say all the right things when asked about Quinn.
"We've made a lot great moves this offseason, and this is another one," Orton said from Hawaii, where he is attending the NFL Players Association meetings. "He's a great player, and I'll be happy to work with him."
As of now, all appears peaceful in Denver but if last offseason taught us anything, that's not bound to last much longer.
