Former Olympian Daniel Cormier Scheduled To Fight John Devine At Strikeforce Challengers

MMA Mania with info on a very big fight for the Strikeforce Challenger's series:

Former United States Olympic wrestler turned mixed martial artist, Daniel Cormier, has been booked to make his second professional start under the Strikeforce banner against John Devine on the Challenger Series 7: "Johnson vs Mahe," according to Sherdog.com.

Cormier made his professional debut last September on the Challenger Series III card, earning a second round technical knockout stoppage over an over-matched Gary Frazier.

Devine has put together a nice five fight winning streak, which includes back-to-back technical knockouts in his two most recent outings. He's a jiu jitsu guy with some talent that has built up some steam. He should certainly provide Cormier with a bigger challenge than what he faced in his debut.

While Cormier did dominate his debut John Devine is a different beast from Gary Frazier.  Devine is more than capable of defending himself on the ground or standing up.  He does lack a little finishing polish having only two of his career fights finish prior to the third round.

Cormier should still be able to work takedowns and manage to pound out a decision win as long as he is aware of positioning and not getting caught by a submission from Devine.

With all that said, here for your mindless entertainment I bring you Daniel Cormier, King Mo, Jason Miller and Ryan Parsons playing "the slapping game":
