There's been much talk during this season of potentially folding the NIT into the NCAA Tournament and creating a 96-team field. The argument for expansion: there is so much parity in college hoops, it would give quality, somewhat deserving teams a tourney berth money. The argument against: It'll water down the field and make the regular season meaningless.
Al Featherston at ACCsports.com has put together what the 2010 NCAA Tournament bracket would look like if it were a 96-team field, so you can take a gander and decide for yourself if expansion is a good idea or not. Although I'm not sure how you can look at a possible Northern Iowa-Quinnipiac or Rhode Island-Sam Houston State first round match-up and NOT get excited.
