You Be The Judge: Is Alex Ovechkin A Dirty Player?

The debate has raged on all season long: is Alex Ovechkin a dirty player?

Ignited again by his most recent hit on Brian Campbell, SB Nation writers have provided the arguments for both sides of the story. Before voting in the poll below, read Derek Zona's case for classifying Ovechkin as a dirty player. Then, read Travis Hughes' case for Ovechkin as a reckless, but not necessarily dirty, player

When you're done, scroll down, view his questionable hits and decide for yourself by voting in the poll.

The SBNation platform has a perfectly fin polling function. Why are you sending us to pollcode.com instead?

Oh, and no, AO is not a dirty player. I might be a little bit biased though.

It doesn’t function on story stream updates, unfortunately.

Players that are interviewed always say that when you play against Alex, he picks you out at the beginning of the game and goes after you – and thus he falls into my definition of a dirty player – which may not be your definition.

My prediction is that Alex will be like Bobby Orr and Lemieux, great but he will burn out young – I just can’t see him playing this way for another 15 years – his body is going to start breaking down.
