Tim Tebow's New Throwing Motion! A Lot Like His Old Throwing Motion!

Florida held their pro day today, and two very interesting things happened. Brandon Spikes, starting linebacker on the ’08 national title team and noted eye-gouger, ran a 5.01 40 yard dash. This means the starting center for the Carolina Panthers, 295 pound Ryan Kalil, can outrun the prospect in a straight line. Not good for the old signing bonus in any way imaginable.

A more expected hubbub surrounded the debut of Tim Tebow’s improved throwing motion. The be-Twittered reviews of Tebow’s loopy, much-maligned motion’s second variation from the field were mixed at best:

Kyle Maistri, Florida Alligator:

tebow hits cooper, hernandez and nelson on deep balls. Delivery looks far from groundbreaking, but what do I know

Michael Wright, Florida Times Union:

Ball still going down low whenever Tebow is on the move. Looks like he’s kind of forcing that new motion. Accuracy just mediocre…

Looks like Tebow worked out one kink and developed another. There’s still a small loop & now a bit of a pause in motion. Mechanical looking.

SunSports, FOX FL:

Tebow throws on-time better to his left because its more natural. Ball has good velocity & best throw is skinny post — an NFL must. -BA

Todd McShay is saving his opinion for broadcast, but rest assured he hates whatever Tebow did to his throwing motion more than he hated his original throwing motion, because he is Todd McShay and that is what he does.
