Villanova Gladly Puts Win Over Robert Morriss Behind Them

Villanova nearly had their season go up in smoke today, because of a 'teaching moment' by head coach Jay Wright who benched starters Corey Fisher and Scottie Reynolds for the first few minutes of today's game, and for reasons that are still unknown.  The two along with the rest of the team had a subpar performance and SB Nation's The Nova Blog makes a blunt statement about the situation:

... whatever the hell that strategy was about, it didn't work. Fisher chipped in just 6 points and didn't do much all game. Scottie Reynolds was 2-654 from the field (okay, 2-15) and looked out of sync. In fairness to him, he did go 15-16 from the line and was CLUTCH down the stretch, as he usually is.

The benching ended up throwing off the entire team as Villanova was horrendous at shooting the ball today, as they shot only thirty-five percent from the field.  Villanova is very much looking forward to play St. Mary's on Saturday, and to put today's near choke job behind them.
