That goal came the 82nd minute of Fulham's 4-1 win over Juventus in the second leg of a round of 16 matchup in the Europa League. And because it made the aggregate tally from the two legs 5-4, Dempsey's goal was the deciding one in what The Guardian called "the greatest result in the club's history." It's also one of the better goals by an American in European club play, and Dempsey's form bodes well for the U.S. national team as their trip to South Africa looms.
And with the NCAA Tournament tipping off over here and consuming almost all the sports media oxygen, it's nice to see that there are still shining moments transpiring in other sports.
