Bobby Lashley Planned For April Strikeforce: Nashville Event

MMA Junkie is reporting that Bobby Lashley is expected to compete on the April Strikeforce event.  From Junkie:

Fast-rising heavyweight prospect Bobby Lashley (5-0 MMA, 1-0 SF), a former WWE and TNA "professional wrestler" who's posted an undefeated MMA record, is likely to earn a spot on the upcoming "Strikeforce: Nashville" event.

Sources close to the organization told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that Strikeforce officials plan to book the fighter for the April 17 card.

No opponent has been determined, though an announcement could come within the next week.

There are three title fights that will headline the card.  Gegard Mousasi will defend the light heavyweight title against "King" Mo Lawal, Shinya Aoki will challenge for Gilbert Melendez's lightweight title and Jake Shields puts his middleweight belt on the line against Dan Henderson.

With three five round fights on the card there is a possibility that the Lashley fight will not make the broadcast.

The real point here is that yet again we're one month away from a Bobby Lashley fight with no opponent named.  In Lashley's last Strikeforce booking the promotion was left scrambling for an opponent one week before fight night.  Add this to the fact that Lashley seems to be actively avoiding proper career development in favor of taking very "winable" fights and the MMA fanbase has soured on Lashley quite quickly.

SB Nation will have more details as information becomes available.
