In February, the NFL hosted the Pro Bowl the week before the Super Bowl, which was a huge ratings success. The NFL hasn't seen a Pro Bowl viewership that large in a decade nor has there been a Pro Bowl crowd that size in 50 years.
Thus, the NFL announced today that the 2011 Pro Bowl will be conducted the week prior to the Super Bowl.
The NFL also moved the game back to Hawaii, which is the preferred destination of players (and reporters) because it's a quieter and more relaxing vacation week.
Having been in Miami during Super Bowl week, I can tell you that city was one Pacman Jones sighting from getting out of hand.
