It's Saturday, and we find ourselves with the Field of 32. This group isn't described as "sweet" or "elite" or "final" because, well, a lot of teams didn't do anything particularly impressive to get here. Wow, you beat Louisville? You just stamped your ticket to the, uh, Reasonably Competent 32!
Of course, a few of the teams that played Friday deserve recognition. 12-seed Cornell (bandwagon alert!) knocked off Temple. And while underdogs such as Wofford, Siena and New Mexico State lost, they posed serious threats.
Here's what the bracket looks like entering Saturday's action. Click to view it in full size.
Saturday's action tips off at 1:05, when 10-seed St. Mary's faces 2-seed Villanova. Our resident college hoops expert, Chris Dobbertean, has picked St. Mary's to win this one, so keep an eye on it. Later on, 11-seed Old Dominion tries to continue its tournament run versus third-seeded Baylor, and (7) BYU tests (2) Kansas State.
Here's the full Saturday schedule.
