Blues' Janssen, Devils' Leblond Fight For Three Straight Minutes, Smile Afterward

If you've never played hockey before, you probably have no idea how difficult it is to fight while on the ice. Think about it, though: you're balancing on blades that are less than a half of a centimeter thick, you're bogged down by 15-20 extra pounds in padding, you're already in the middle of an already physically-grueling sport, and now you have another guy throwing fists at your face.

Knowing these facts will likely lead you to an understanding of why most hockey fights only last about 30 to 60 seconds. These facts will also force you to watch in wonder as Cam Janssen of the St. Louis Blues and Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond of the New Jersey Devils fight for three straight minutes.

Both land punches, both wave off the linesmen who are inclined to step in, and both smile at each other as the officials finally do break things up. Three minutes later.

I find it entertaining that Janssen waives off the linesmen about three times to keep going.
