The emotional trauma just done to Maryland fans--like, say, our SENIOR EDITOR--is, at this point, incalculable. To watch a team complete a furious rally for the lead with under 10 seconds to go, only to have it taken away at the buzzer, is the type of crushing disappointment from which full recovery is frankly impossible. It's like losing a kidney. Sort of.
Thus, even if we were legally able to post a video of Korie Lucious's game-winning shot, we wouldn't do it; we'd hate to find out to what depths of sadness it would plunge Mr. Mottram. If that's not cruel and unusual punishment, we don't know what is.
It's not all good news for the Spartans, though. Tom Izzo speculated after the game that guard Kalin Lucas probably has a torn Achilles' tendon; he's probably done for the tournament. Further, UNI lurks, and Michigan State's the type of team the Panthers might want to face. They're not overly big on the perimeter, and they turn the ball over a whole lot. Don't pencil Sparty into the Elite 8 just yet.
How was that, Maryland fans? Make you feel any better? Probably not. Oh well, we tried.

One of the best games
in an already fantastic tournament. Kudos to both teams.
