Last week Browns football czar Mike Holmgren said he doesn't envision his team taking Jimmy Clausen with the seventh pick nor does he foresee a quarterback being taken in the second round.
But was he telling the truth?
The Browns are reportedly working out Colt McCoy who is expected to be drafted at the end of the first round or early second round.
And, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, their interest in McCoy is genuine.
Hearing Browns interest in Colt McCoy is real – either w 2nd round pick or package picks to move into bottom of 1st rd. Don’t rule it out.
SB Nation's Andrew Sharp has an interesting take on this subject and suggests taking McCoy would be an unwise move.
Whether it's smart or not, it's not like taking McCoy would be unheard of.
The Browns are currently sporting Jake Delhomme on a two-year contract. The same Jake Delhomme that's imploded at nearly stop since a five-interception 2008 playoff game. Then there's Seneca Wallace, who hasn't completed over 60% of his passes in any season he's thrown over 140 passes.
