South Bend, IN (Sports Network) - Tory Jackson tallied 22 points and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish downed the Connecticut Huskies, 58-50, in a crucial Big East tilt at the Joyce Center.

Jackson made 8-of-14 field goals and recorded four steals for ND (20-10, 9-8 BE), which was coming off consecutive wins over Pittsburgh and Georgetown. Carleton Scott notched a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Tim Abromaitis chipped in with 10 points.

Kemba Walker turned in 15 points and six boards for the Huskies (17-13, 7-10), who have now fallen in two straight following a three-game win streak. Gavin Edwards and Jerome Dyson each posted 10 points, with Edwards also grabbing 11 caroms to complete a double-double.

ND made just 23.5 percent of its field goals in the opening half and trailed 20-17 at the break.

The Irish turned things around in the second half, shooting a scorching 61.1 percent from the floor on their way to the eight-point win.

ND, which continues to play without star Luke Harangody, had just seven turnovers compared to 15 by UConn.
