The 19th pick is in and SB Nation's Falcons community, The Falcoholic, has selected...
Missouri LB Sean Weatherspoon
He's athletic, a punishing tackler, an excellent overall football player and a guy who comes pre-packaged with swagger. Weatherspoon is already beloved by The Falcoholic faithful-who definitely would've burned my house to the ground if I hadn't selected him here-and he'd be an instant upgrade against both the pass and the run for the Falcons.
Weatherspoon is the kind of energetic spark plug that would make Atlanta's other linebackers better. He'd fit great in the team's scheme.
I'm a little baffled about the concerns regarding Spoon's utility in pass coverage. Yes, the majority of his value is in his ability to stop the run, but I think he's less of a liability in coverage than scouts are making him out to be. He's fantastic at reading quarterbacks' eyes (which, again, may get him in a little bit of trouble at the next level), and he's fairly fluid for a guy of his build and his hands proved rather solid during his tenure as a Tiger.
This is one of the few picks where it seems it would be an upset if he didn't go there. As Rock M Nation says, he's certainly got some flaws in his game but his football IQ should allow him to overcome any of those. He's not going to dominate your linebacker corps but he's definitely going to be part of the solution.
This is a solid pick.
