SB Nation's Broncos community, Mile High Report, is taking a look at Jason Elam after it was announced on Tuesday that he would be signing a one-day contract with the Broncos in anticipation of his retirement press conference on Wednesday.

Elam retires with 1,983 points, and ranks fifth in made field goals (436) and fourth in made PATs (675).  One of the truly great Broncos, Jason Elam should one day see his name on the Ring of Fame.

Of late, Elam has become quite the author as well, writing a series of books about a football player that also fights terrorism.  His next offering is due out this fall.

Ah, yes, Monday Night Jihad, Elam's terrorism book. Fortunately, he's had a heck of a career so he won't be remembered for that.

Elam will be eligible for the Broncos Ring of Fame in 2015 -- five years after his retirement.
