The assumption for quite some time has been that the Rams will select Sam Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick. However, recent reports indicate that they won't make their final decision until at the earliest April 19th when they conduct a private workout with the Oklahoma quarterback.
In the meantime, the Rams are checking out other quarterback options.
According to ESPN's James Walker, Colt McCoy will get a workout from the Rams sometime before the April 22nd draft.
But a source said St. Louis continues to turn over every rock, and hasn't completely ruled out an alternative plan, in which the team might select McCoy at the start of the second round (No. 33 overall), while selecting another player with its top pick -- presumably Oklahoma defensive lineman Gerald McCoy or Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh.
McCoy went through his pro day down in Austin, TX on Wednesday and, according to SB Nation's Mocking the Draft, the Rams (or Lions) were not in attendance.
Mocking the Draft has a good rundown on McCoy's pro day where he completed every single pass attempted.
