Evgeny Artyukhin was acquired by the Atlanta Thrashers in a trade with Anaheim for his physical fortitude and imposing size. The 26-year-old has the ability to be of greater use, like an effective power forward, because of his awesome speed which accompanies his large frame.
Artyukhin notched a goal in his first game with Atlanta, a 6-3 win hosting the New York Islanders. Here's an example of what he needs to do more consistently in order to maximize his potential.
How often do you see a player who is 6' 5", 254 pounds, start behind his own net, breeze by a couple of people and beat the goaltender rather easily? The answer is not enough (Alexander Ovechkin is 6' 2", 225 pounds).
