Hey y'all

I am ready for some racing (and chatting)!

Me too! Hopefully Atlanta brings it.

yawn

Ok. West Coast present…Thank goodness for the internet. However, I do know y’all are jealous of my fuzzy pink slippers and jammies…;)

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 12:47 PM EST reply actions

west coast X2… however I have fuzzy blue slippers..

by IsagenixFreak on Mar 7, 2010 12:57 PM EST up reply actions

I have fuzzy purple ones on. lol.

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 12:58 PM EST up reply actions

So are we going with Jr. today, or is Carl going to come out of his slumber and back flip for us??

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 12:58 PM EST reply actions

Are those the only 2 choices? I think Paul Menard has a legitimate chance!

by Cliff Cox on Mar 7, 2010 1:00 PM EST up reply actions

I’d say Junior because I’m biased. Doesn’t help his cause that Jeff picked him… so that will probably jinx him. However still worried about the engines since SHR had to change theirs.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 1:05 PM EST up reply actions

Pulling for Junior, but will be OK with ABKB (anyone but Kyle Busch).

TXdeb88

by TXdeb88 on Mar 7, 2010 1:14 PM EST up reply actions

I’m pleading the 5th and saying ABJ (Anyone but Jimmie) lol.

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 1:01 PM EST reply actions

I’d go for that. Anyone but Jimmie please.

Anyone but Jimmie if Junior can’t pull it off.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 1:05 PM EST up reply actions

Made it!

I’m here!

So question….who causes the first caution: Robby Gordon, Sam Hornish or “Other?”

:)

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:07 PM EST reply actions

‘other’…. Keselowski, you know this. lol.

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 1:08 PM EST up reply actions

How can you forget Kevin Conway…he is terribly slow and always in the way

by Kyle Jackson on Mar 7, 2010 1:10 PM EST up reply actions

Um I think Max Papis will be the 1st caution. Just a guess.

by Cliff Cox on Mar 7, 2010 1:10 PM EST up reply actions

I’ll go with Hornish.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 1:10 PM EST up reply actions

Maybe Boris?

Kyle’s already pissed at him

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:11 PM EST up reply actions

Who can be pissed at Boris, I mean seriously..lol..;)

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:12 PM EST up reply actions

wait, boris is in the race? wow.

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 1:13 PM EST up reply actions

Hornish..then Rubby..lol..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:12 PM EST up reply actions

maybe McMurray will take out JPM…

by IsagenixFreak on Mar 7, 2010 1:11 PM EST up reply actions

Robby Gordon wins the prize!

by Kyle Jackson on Mar 7, 2010 1:20 PM EST up reply actions

Got to be Hornish LOL why should this race be any different

by del227 on Mar 7, 2010 1:09 PM EST reply actions

Crowd Noise?

So did Dale Jr. regain the title as the getting the loudest response?

by Kyle Jackson on Mar 7, 2010 1:09 PM EST reply actions

Actually, no. I thought he would. But no!

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:11 PM EST up reply actions

That’s surprising! I thought the pole would have been enough to get Jr. Nation all riled up!

by Kyle Jackson on Mar 7, 2010 1:12 PM EST up reply actions

there in Atlanta not Alabama. Dega is Jr country.

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 1:14 PM EST up reply actions

Was Bill the Big crowd winner?

by Timsim38 on Mar 7, 2010 1:14 PM EST reply actions

D. Waltrip

I agree with you about Waltrip…he has a love fest with Dale Jr. and Kyle Busch…he is also really negative when it comes to other drivers…didn’t Denny Hamlin point that out at Daytona too? haha

by Kyle Jackson on Mar 7, 2010 1:15 PM EST reply actions

Just Jr and Kyle? And Jimmie, and Jeff… he kisses way to many butts in the garage…

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 1:17 PM EST up reply actions

I’m not sure that’s Darrell’s fault. Darrell talks about who we are talking about. If Denny Hamlin isn’t doing anything, why should he be talked about. As much as we want to point fingers and be fair, let’s be real, who cares about start-and-parkers or back-runners?

So I guess it’s fair to say that DW has a “love fest” with who ever is worth talking about that weekend.

by Lucas Gabriel Lubin on Mar 7, 2010 1:27 PM EST up reply actions

Coming to the green

I asked this last week, but do you like Boogity Boogity? I actually do, despite me not loving the job DW does in the booth.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:17 PM EST reply actions

I do cuz we only have to deal with it for x amount of weeks, not all season.

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 1:18 PM EST up reply actions

Those words get said in my head whether DW is in the booth or not.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 1:18 PM EST up reply actions

Whether anyone likes it or not, B, B, B is effective and everyone says it….even if they don’t want to admit it..;)

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:18 PM EST up reply actions

Boogity, boogity, boogity!!

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:17 PM EST reply actions

WOW

What happened Jr? Forget where the gas pedal was?

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 1:18 PM EST reply actions

It’s been that way for quite some time..ohhh..did I say that??

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:19 PM EST up reply actions

Lance told him to take it easy on the motor at the start and let Kyle go. Didn’t let anyone else by, though

Her eis the Kobalt tools commercial..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:22 PM EST reply actions

Which one? The new one or old one?

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:23 PM EST up reply actions

The new one with the car falling.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 1:25 PM EST up reply actions

Kittens, bunnies, and…little baby seals…still cracks me up..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:24 PM EST reply actions

STILL haven’t seen that commercial!! I’ll watch a race on TV someday, I guess.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:27 PM EST up reply actions

DID KOBALT REALLY

show that ‘mishap’ as a commercial? Still wont get me to buy Kolbalt… but wow, didnt know they’d do that. A little, unprofessional?

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 1:24 PM EST reply actions

Releasing it on social media was a very interesting move, however, it was so widely advertised as ‘fake" that now, it’s like the boy who cried wolf…

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:26 PM EST up reply actions

All part of ad campaign

to show how tough the tools are. I did a little blurb on it on the site.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:28 PM EST up reply actions

Blake Shelton

Wonder if he was watching the race when that happened?

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:24 PM EST reply actions

Probably – he seems to be a huge NASCAR fan! Good morning…

by Ceejaytravels on Mar 7, 2010 1:29 PM EST up reply actions

2nd caution?

Y’all wanna guess who the next caution is gonna be.

by Cliff Cox on Mar 7, 2010 1:24 PM EST reply actions

Did you hear Hamlin just called his car sexy?

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 1:31 PM EST up reply actions

No, did he? That makes me uncomfortable. Haha!

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:31 PM EST up reply actions

ahaha…. its a sexy car, fast and moving through the pack, taking spots and smack ? lol.

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 1:33 PM EST up reply actions

What is that Ray J song playing in my head when I read this?;)

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:38 PM EST up reply actions

I want Keselowski to wreck. I hate him with a passion!

by Cliff Cox on Mar 7, 2010 1:35 PM EST up reply actions

Why do you hate Keselowski so much?

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:38 PM EST up reply actions

Every race he has ever been in he has wrecked someone. Either for the win or just plain running over someone. And it all started with the Talladega race with Carl Edwards.

by Cliff Cox on Mar 7, 2010 1:42 PM EST up reply actions

The drivers in the middle of the pack trying to get out toward the front they know Hornish is in the middle and it won’t be long b4 he hits the wall and take someone out

by del227 on Mar 7, 2010 1:29 PM EST reply actions

Tough for Bowyer.

Flat tire and green flag pit stop.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 1:33 PM EST reply actions

Yeah, that sucks. Glad I didn’t have him in fantasy picks today.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:33 PM EST up reply actions

Me either. Usually one of my fantasy picks has an awful week. This week, I hope it’s Johnson for obvious reasons.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 1:39 PM EST up reply actions

Kyle

Anyone hear what he said on the radio? I only caught part of it. He sounded pretty pissed. Said they won’t have something the rest of the race?

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:35 PM EST reply actions

Sam (his fiancee) said they’re having an issue w/ kyles cool box in the car.

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 1:37 PM EST up reply actions

On Twitter, your boy Bob said it was his cool box hookup.

by MissJess on Mar 7, 2010 1:37 PM EST up reply actions

Yup, saw that…thanks. Well, at least it’s not a hot summer day.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:38 PM EST up reply actions

Breakfast...on the West Coast anyway..

Let’s see Turkey bacon or chicken sausage..egg white omlette with raw cheddar…

Or egg white protien shake with blueberries and banana..

Decisions, decisions…

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:38 PM EST reply actions

@samsarcinella tweeted he was having probs w/coolbox but car not bad

by del227 on Mar 7, 2010 1:38 PM EST reply actions

OOF

Gotta be a bad feeling when you know you’re gonna hit after a tire goes down.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:40 PM EST reply actions

Has FOX mentioned that both Stewart is in the top 15 and Newman almost is after starting in the back for engine changes? I haven’t heard anything yet. But then again, I have the tv volume down and listing to PRN online.

Jeff G reports that right front and right rear showing wear on that run!

Correction – right front and left rear

I hope at least!

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:55 PM EST up reply actions

As I was saying...

Keselowski is a dumbass!! He wrecked Carl! Yet another race he wrecks someone.

by Cliff Cox on Mar 7, 2010 1:49 PM EST reply actions

Interesting. “The Blade does it again, TJ.”

Brad K? Blade?

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 1:51 PM EST up reply actions

Wow...

Gets tough to defend Brad K when he does stuff like that. Carl being pushed backward to garage.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:49 PM EST reply actions

Ya think Hornish has been giving BradK tips ..teammates ugh!

by del227 on Mar 7, 2010 1:52 PM EST up reply actions

I swear to God if I ever see him he is going to regret being born!

You can go to any nascar track and see him lol. You gonna beat brad up?

by Timsim38 on Mar 7, 2010 1:54 PM EST up reply actions

Oh believe me, he’ll get a nice ‘chat’ with this fan come Phoenix…

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 1:54 PM EST up reply actions

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 1:53 PM EST up reply actions

Denny's version....

“Who?”

LMAO…just as funny as the Kyle one..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:51 PM EST reply actions

And there’s the Tony mention..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 1:53 PM EST reply actions

Elliott Sadler

running 14th. Rooting for him to finish on the lead lap. Too much to wish for?

To try and fail may be unacceptable, but failing to try, is accepting failure.

by alfresco on Mar 7, 2010 1:55 PM EST reply actions

Of course Elliott is gonna finish on the lead lap. You better not be an Elliott Sadler fan cuz if you are you are not a true fan. You don’t question that. If you are a fan you must not waiver even if he is not on the lead lap. Sorry if that was a bit intense but I am a die-hard NASCAR fan and will gladly take a bullet for my drivers.

by Cliff Cox on Mar 7, 2010 2:04 PM EST up reply actions

So Carl things that Brad should have either slowed down to let him in or move out of his way rather than hold his line? I know others are flaming Brad on that, but Carl wasn’t innocent in that deal. It was a racing thing.

Yeah, maybe Brad could have backed off the gas a little, but Carl didn’t have to cut down in front of him. From what I saw, Brad held his line and Carl moved down. It’s a racing deal. No one is blameless in it, but Brad isn’t any more to blame than Carl is.

But then again, that’s just my opinion, for what it’s worth (if anything).

sounds like carl realizes its not “exactly” BK’s fault

by IsagenixFreak on Mar 7, 2010 1:59 PM EST up reply actions

Carl

Clearly, Carl “gets” the media game better than anyone and decided to cut Brad a break with his comments….he was trying to be classy.

You’re right, Brad held his line…but in a 500-mile race, “give and take” is something that is necessary.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 1:59 PM EST up reply actions

I didn’t say that Brad was blameless. I’m just saying that he was not the only one to blame.

And I didn’t say you were wrong :)

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 2:02 PM EST up reply actions

That may be the case but still he doesn’t race clean. Every time he has won he has run someone over. He will probably wreck someone else in this race later on.

by Cliff Cox on Mar 7, 2010 1:59 PM EST up reply actions

And if Brad gave him more room and Denny ran into Brad THAT would be Brad’s fault, too. Rookie can’t win…

He shouldnt, he hasnt shown he belongs in cup, at all.

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 2:02 PM EST up reply actions

I disagree

He WON a Cup race last year.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 2:03 PM EST up reply actions

Oh PUHLEAAAASSSSSE!

If I remember correctly, it was only after he wrecked someone else out to take the win!

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 2:05 PM EST up reply actions

Like no one else has ever wrecked someone to win?

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 2:08 PM EST up reply actions

sure, he won a cup race… so has casey mears. but do either have talent? no.

by dhamsbiggestfan on Mar 7, 2010 2:06 PM EST up reply actions

I’ve got to disagree with you too. Brad has talent…he just doesn’t have control.

by MissJess on Mar 7, 2010 2:08 PM EST up reply actions

Look…Brad K DOES have talent. He may be too aggressive but he has talent. One driver predicted he’ll win a Cup championship within five years. As for Mears….Fuel mileage :)

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 2:09 PM EST up reply actions

Smears wrecked everything he ever touched..hence the nickname “Smears”…

Fuel Milage, my ass..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 2:12 PM EST up reply actions

I don’t like BK…but there are plenty of drivers in Cup that haven’t shown they are ready to be there. He’s done better in NW than quite a few others already in Cup.

by MissJess on Mar 7, 2010 2:05 PM EST up reply actions

Brad never gives and takes and he wrecks someone every week

No need to be racing like that this early in the race. When it’s Bristol he’s getting his ass kicked!

by karen s on Mar 7, 2010 2:15 PM EST up reply actions

Jeff Gordon...

Say it Larry…“hope its the RIGHT adjustment on that final stop”

That’s right..LeTarte lost the race for them last week..

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 2:10 PM EST up reply actions

wherever you like

by alfresco on Mar 7, 2010 2:11 PM EST up reply actions

See your point. Last week his sponsor was Stanley. According to this, this week his sponsor is Hunt brotheres Pizza? That doesn’t look good.

To try and fail may be unacceptable, but failing to try, is accepting failure.

by alfresco on Mar 7, 2010 2:17 PM EST up reply actions

That’s mean y’all. Just because he doesn’t run in the top 10 every race. He is a good driver. And makes it all that more exciting when he does run up front.

by Cliff Cox on Mar 7, 2010 2:13 PM EST up reply actions

Not mean at all. They are an underfunded team, period.

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 2:15 PM EST up reply actions

Well, I think ever since making the Chase a couple times, that was perhaps the peak of his career. He doesn’t have great cars or a particularly great team, and he’s a good – but not great – driver. Just my opinion.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 2:13 PM EST reply actions

RPM

On the whole, the entire RPM driver stable is a disaster, discounting Kasey Kahne. I find it humorous when RPM tweets “so far so good” during practice when the 98 is running about 28th.

by chouh2 on Mar 7, 2010 2:15 PM EST reply actions

28th is actually pretty impressive for Menard… ;)

by MissJess on Mar 7, 2010 2:17 PM EST up reply actions

Sadly, you are correct. ;)
-helena. :o)

by chouh2 on Mar 7, 2010 2:19 PM EST up reply actions

He’s currently 16th…maybe I should be nicer? Nahhhhh. ;)

by MissJess on Mar 7, 2010 2:27 PM EST up reply actions

And when they consistantly lose spots on pit stops after leading the race…but they just can’t get “the best” hired because of funding. It’s a catch 22. They are actually doing pretty damn good under the circumstances. It just the circumstances suck.

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 2:18 PM EST up reply actions

Consistently? No. 1 stop so far Kahne lost spots. shrugs The 9 is the shining star in an organization that is otherwise a joke. I’m praying Kahne gets out of there after this year.

by chouh2 on Mar 7, 2010 2:21 PM EST up reply actions

It’s interesting…Bob Pockrass reported that RPM is sending ONLY Menard to the spoiler test at Dega….to save money??? Why would you not send all your cars?

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 2:23 PM EST up reply actions

And if you were just going to send one, why Menard?!?!?

by MissJess on Mar 7, 2010 2:25 PM EST up reply actions

Because he needs the most help in the form of track time?

by chouh2 on Mar 7, 2010 2:26 PM EST up reply actions

I seriously wonder if they have the money.

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 2:25 PM EST up reply actions

Where would he go? Where’s room?

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 2:24 PM EST up reply actions

RCR potentially. SHR in a third car, possibly. Just the two I’ve thought of.

by chouh2 on Mar 7, 2010 2:25 PM EST up reply actions

I think Harvick would end up at SHR before Kahne would (him and TS are best friends)…but that would open a spot at RCR…I dunno

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 2:30 PM EST up reply actions

There was an interesting Terry Blount article on ESPN this week about why Kahne should get that spot (should it exist) over Harvick. Not sure I can link it here but if you can find it, read it.

by chouh2 on Mar 7, 2010 2:33 PM EST up reply actions

Something to watch, for sure. Everyone praised the tire all weekend, but they didn’t have a lot of long runs. The surface here is VERY abrasive (almost like old Darlington used to be)

hows the attendance ur pre race pic looked like many empty seats

by gidgetlvznascar on Mar 7, 2010 2:20 PM EST reply actions

It’s about as good as Fontana, to be honest.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 2:21 PM EST up reply actions

That’s sad and scary. Tickets were $1 at one point too.. :(

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 2:22 PM EST up reply actions

Those sold out really fast it was the $85 ones that stopped people from buying.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 2:24 PM EST up reply actions

I’m not convinced it’s ticket prices at any track. I think it’s the hotels, gas, food, etc., that folks cannot afford…

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 2:26 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah, but I think they only sold 2,000 of those and then capped it. It was basically for publicity, you know?

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 2:25 PM EST up reply actions

The promotion was 2000 at $1. Then they had one of buy one for regular price ($85) get one for $1.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 2:27 PM EST up reply actions

Yes, but that seems to be 2000 more tickets than they would have sold…

That’s ok. Trying to find somebody new to root for. When I saw team RPM, had a feeling that was a problem.

I don’t care if Elliott doesn’t run up front. i have been a fan of his since he began racing at Yates Racing in the #38 and won Texas & California & one of the Duel races at Daytona. I am not gonna stop being a fan just cuz he isn’t in the Chase or winning races. I will be with him until his last race. I did it with Dale Jarrett and will do it with anyone else I root for.

by Cliff Cox on Mar 7, 2010 2:27 PM EST up reply actions

Do you know how long his contract is with RPM? Why did he leave Yates?

To try and fail may be unacceptable, but failing to try, is accepting failure.

by alfresco on Mar 7, 2010 2:32 PM EST up reply actions

2010 may be the end of his contract. I just looked at Jayski’s site. He prolly left Yates because there was more money offered with this team. Yates prolly couldn’t offer more money cuz they were diminishing at the time. But kind of in a way Elliott is back with Yates this year with the buyout and back with Fords.

BK

I agree that BK not at fault in the Carl wreck. He held his line, Carl came down. He could have backed off, then would have gotten rearended and would have been blasted for that, too…. Why does Carl think anyone should “let him in”???

Because Brad is young and Carl is a veterans, and young guys aren’t allowed to race. They’re not smart enough to realize that races are only 50 miles long and the rest is to keep the fans who bothered to show up or watch occupied for three hours.

RPM con't

Ford is not giving all the drivers the same engine. Some of the drivers are using the newer FR9 and others are stuck with the old model until Ford can get more of the FR9 built.

by YowserYowser on Mar 7, 2010 2:26 PM EST reply actions

I was under the impression none of the Ford drivers were using the new engine right now, but I could be totally wrong. Thought I’d heard that.

Tough Times

You know it’s tough for teams to find sponsors when even HMS can’t find a full-season worth of sponsorship for the driver that finished 2nd in the points last year and is a fan (well, not me, but a lot of fans) favorite.

by MissJess on Mar 7, 2010 2:36 PM EST reply actions

Completely agree. Hence the reason I say RPM is doing a HELLof a lot better than people think on what little they have…

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 2:37 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah, seriously! You said it….Even Mark Martin didn’t have a full season? Wow.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 2:40 PM EST up reply actions

Junior loose wheel

What’s TV reporting about that? I couldn’t hear. Help me out, thanks.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 2:45 PM EST reply actions

It was kind of hard to tell, because as usual the announcers were a mess.

They talked about how Goodyear needed to check the dismount? And something about the inner-liner, and played audio from Junior saying he has an uncanny number of loose wheels here (well he didn’t say uncanny, because, well, he’s Junior…)

by MissJess on Mar 7, 2010 2:46 PM EST up reply actions

Maybe an interliner problem, they didn’t find evidence of loose wheel

Wouldn’t mind for a repeat of last year at Texas with Johnson. I wouldn’t get too upset.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 3:38 PM EST up reply actions

Another QUESTION for you

If Junior comes out of here with a poor finish (30th now), do you still think he’ll make the Chase this season? I know it’s early, but…he’s basically the same as last year at times.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 3:38 PM EST reply actions

Nope.

This is looking like 2009 all over again. Nothing’s changed. If he’s going to make the chase, something drastic needs to happen and fast.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 3:40 PM EST up reply actions

Jr Making the Chase?

I’d like to see some consistency first. Qual’d on pole, fast in practice, went backwards every green flag run till problems. After Texas, we’ll know for sure.

Everyone makes excuses for Junior because he’s, well, Junior.

I just don’t see the fire under his ass to win.

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 3:41 PM EST reply actions

Respectfully, Sky...

…I’d say Junior’s problem is more a lack of a car under his ass to win rather than the fire.

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 3:42 PM EST up reply actions

Doubtful...

Are you saying that his equipment lacks what the 24, 48, or 5 have? I know Mears’ wasn’t stellar but look what Martin did with the 5 the following season. It’s not the cars.

by alfresco on Mar 7, 2010 3:48 PM EST up reply actions

Really?

In the HMS stable? Honestly?

Mark Martin came in and in his first year nearly won the Championship.

Junior has had plenty of time, and plenty of excuses. This week it’s a wheel hub. What’ll it be next week?

He is the ONLY HMS car that runs like crap every week.

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 3:46 PM EST up reply actions

Well Sky Jeff is behind Jr. Mark Is 20th. All have had trouble today. Im a Jr fan and im tired of the excuses. But when you really have problems what can ya do. But it doesn’t make sense. In his 1st year with HMS. he was the best HMS car for 3/4 or the year. Ran top 5 a lot. Lead races. Didn’t get a ton of wins. But Im not sure what can change to make him look so bad the last 2 years.

by Timsim38 on Mar 7, 2010 3:50 PM EST up reply actions

Jeff would have won last race but Steve made a stupid call, which would have put him further up the ladder.

ALL of HMS were the top 3 in the Championship, and Jr didn’t even make the Chase.

I’m not saying Jr doesn’t want to win at all, I’m just sayin he seems to just give up..

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 4:04 PM EST up reply actions

Testing.

Do any of you guys think maybe nascar should allow the teams to test like they did 2-3 years ago. Maybe pick like 4-5 tracks thur the year and allow everyone to go test. Then maybe the racing would be a little better. And maybe teams could do some long runs and figure out if a tire is gonna last. I just dont think 4-5 cars is cutting it. Seems like this happens more and more the last couple years. I think it would make racing better. I know some think other wise. But idk.

by Timsim38 on Mar 7, 2010 4:05 PM EST reply actions

Were more cars vying for wins when there was testing than now.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 4:10 PM EST up reply actions

haha well no probably not. Really i think it was about the same. Same few guys seem to win every week.

by Timsim38 on Mar 7, 2010 4:12 PM EST up reply actions

Nah

Screw that, Tim. It doesn’t help. It costs money for the teams and doesn’t improve the quality of the racing…because it’s the same for everyone.

Now, if you’re talking about tire testing, that’s different. Goodyear holds tire tests at many tracks it’s concerned about. And they actually DID have a tire test here in January.

So what else can you do?

by Jeff Gluck on Mar 7, 2010 4:12 PM EST up reply actions

Don't look now Jr Nation.....

We’re trying not to look. In fact believe we’ve stopped looking 2 hours ago.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 4:23 PM EST up reply actions

I am gonna go ahead and say that Paul Menard makes the Chase this year. If he keeps up this consistency. He has top 15s in all of the races so far.

letarte

your fucking retarded we can make it the rest of the way and your 2 laps down i’m sick and tired of STEVE when Jeff has him a question he says I dunno or do your best

by bullsfan24 on Mar 7, 2010 4:23 PM EST reply actions

Gillilan

What was promised to this team for not pitting with the rest of the lead lap cars in favor of helping out Johnson?

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 4:26 PM EST reply actions

They are giving them one of JRs car.

by Timsim38 on Mar 7, 2010 4:32 PM EST up reply actions

He’d probably do better in it that Jr would..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 4:34 PM EST up reply actions

LOL!

Wait… how is that going to help Gilliland?

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 4:34 PM EST up reply actions

I love Jr. Hate to say it but i think he would beat Jr with it lol.

by Timsim38 on Mar 7, 2010 4:36 PM EST up reply actions

It’s probably car that Eury Jr. built last year, not a new one.

by MT Hundley on Mar 7, 2010 4:38 PM EST up reply actions

I just noticed Gilliland is better than Jr right now even without one of Jr’s cars..lol

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 4:42 PM EST up reply actions

Jeff Gluck

its frustrating when Steve keeps telling Jeff I dunno or try your best Letarte is the crew chief

Caution

Well thats the caution a lot of wave around cars were waiting on! Of course, not sure what NASCAR was waiting on to call that caution.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 4:30 PM EST reply actions

Doubtful, looked like the right front wouldn’t have lasted without it though.

Dirty Air

It must be really bad. 24 went to back and couldn’t do anything. 88/5 same story. now Jimmie hasn’t moved since restart. Wasn’t this new car suppose to help that?

by Timsim38 on Mar 7, 2010 4:45 PM EST reply actions

Harvick!

Well guess he’ll salvage my fantasy picks!! Even Mark made a comeback!

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 4:46 PM EST reply actions

I don’t even want to know..lol..

Oh Boy damn thats scary.

by Timsim38 on Mar 7, 2010 4:50 PM EST reply actions

OMG

That was intentional and totally uncalled for!!!!

by MT Hundley on Mar 7, 2010 4:52 PM EST reply actions

Carl is 156 laps down. Bullshit move by a pro. Tried to get him for 2 laps.

DadoHodson

by DadoHodson on Mar 7, 2010 4:54 PM EST up reply actions

That was scary..very scary..holy shit..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 4:52 PM EST reply actions

Very scary… that would have ended very very badly.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 5:00 PM EST up reply actions

On Purpose?

I don’t think he knows where he is.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 4:52 PM EST reply actions

He landed on the driver’s side…

Wow. Carl’s going to have a trip to the Big, White Hauler for some ’splainin….

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 4:54 PM EST up reply actions

And they just parked him..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 4:56 PM EST up reply actions

After seeing the replay of the lap (or a couple) before the wreck, it sure looked like Carl was gunning for Brad on purpose. The first incident was a racing deal. What Carl just did was blatantly intentional. NASCAR needs to do something about that. More than just park him for the rest of this race.

If NASCAR doesn’t do something, I will walk away from the sport. When something is that blatant, it cannot be ignored.

Edwards

Parked & Called to NASCAR Hauler!!!!

by MT Hundley on Mar 7, 2010 4:58 PM EST reply actions

He sure didn’t deny doing it on purpose.

I swear....

I amost picked Menard and McMurray….but DIDN’T!

DadoHodson

by DadoHodson on Mar 7, 2010 5:04 PM EST reply actions

NASCAR

Well I doubt Edwards will get a bigger penalty than just being parked (which after being 100+ laps down didn’t hurt him) with 4 laps to go…other than being fined. Even though he admitted to doing it on purpose and only sorry that Brad’s car flipped. Uncalled for.

by jr88freak on Mar 7, 2010 5:05 PM EST reply actions

WOW!

The radio called that so far in advanced. I didn’t know what TJ was talking about. Wreck where? Spin where?

Dale Jr leaves ATL with some Positives!

1. Pit Crew did much better job
2. They didn’t give up and salvaged a 15th place finish
3. Didn’t end up on their lid after getting “help” like Brad K

DadoHodson

by DadoHodson on Mar 7, 2010 5:20 PM EST reply actions

Yea well Ill take a top 15. I think his car went away. But it seems like that dirty air kills these cars. Seemed really bad here for some reason. But better than 30th.

2 things..

First, I didn’t tank as badly as I thought with my fantasy picks..

Second, sucks that Ears wins with Addington before Shrub does this year…

by Sky inLas Vegas on Mar 7, 2010 5:26 PM EST reply actions

My first 3 races i scored between 700-710 points per race. This week like 550. Bad points week. Mark keeps hurting me.

by Timsim38 on Mar 7, 2010 5:39 PM EST up reply actions

Points - yes, I know it's early but...

Paul Menard and Scott Speed are in the top 12!!!

by Ceejaytravels on Mar 7, 2010 5:26 PM EST reply actions

Okay okay

The race turned around and became a great finish. The tire problems still sucked, but it won’t be as big of a hindrance as the pot hole and caution lights debacle.
