The 25th pick is in and SB Nation's Ravens community, Baltimore Beatdown, has selected...
Oklahoma TE Jermaine Gresham
Baltimore passing on DE Jason Pierre-Paul is tough to do here because of how gifted of an athlete Pierre-Paul is, but the Ravens ignore the athletic freak and go with Gresham, who has had great production in a short time at Oklahoma.
This is one of those surefire picks, like Atlanta taking Sean Weatherspoon. Dissenters may say it's not a good idea to take a backup player in the first round. But Gresham is that good. Had he played in 2009, he'd almost certainly go earlier. Had he been in the 2009 draft, he would have been the first tight end taken.
The Ravens are fairly stacked so they can afford to take a luxury pick like this. Flacco is young and while Anquan Boldin will help, Todd Heap and Derrick Mason aren't getting any younger. This is a risk worth taking for the Ravens.
