Jason Campbell Not Reporting To Redskins Minicamp, Trade Still Possible

Jason Campbell signed his restricted free agent tender on Monday opening the door for a trade.

As we've previously explained. now that Campbell has signed his tender the Redskins can trade him without any restrictions.

According to various reports, the Redskins have given Campbell and his agent permission to seek a trade. The arrival of Donovan McNabb has pretty much squashed his future in Washington.

So it's no surprise to hear that Campbell won't be reporting the Redskins voluntary minicamp this weekend.

If the widely-held belief that Campbell will be traded or released turns out to be true, then there's no reason for him to attend.

A few weeks ago, Mike Shanahan expressed some displeasure with Albert Haynesworth's decision not to attend all of the Redskins minicamps.

Considering both sides are hoping for a trade, don't expect Shanahan to be upset at Campbell's decision.
