Brandon Roy Suffers Slight Meniscus Tear, Could Miss Playoffs

Stay connected with SB Nation

As if the Portland Trail Blazers needed any more bad news in this snakebitten season, it appears that Brandon Roy's knee injury is more serious than expected. SB Nation's Blazers Edge is reporting that Roy has a slight meniscus tear that could keep him out of the playoffs.

Roy will eventually need surgery, which would sideline him for about 4-6 weeks. However, he said that he was going to put off the surgery until after the season and possibly try playing in the playoffs.

Will you play in playoffs? Roy: "I don't know right now... I want to play... If I do play I want to play at a level I can help."

Torn meniscus injuries are serious - Jameer Nelson missed a month with a similar injury this year.
