Now Entering The Ring: John Paxson And Vinny Del Negro

So according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, John Paxson and Vinny Del Negro nearly got into a fight last month over the number of minutes an injured Joakim Noah should play down the stretch. We figure we might as well make this official and allow them to slug it out in the ring.

Therefore, let's introduce the characters for this fight of epic proportions.

IN ONE CORNER, John Paxson, the former general manager of the Chicago Bulls who stepped down was promoted last year because he was tired of dealing with the media. The Bulls found him a protege in Gar Forman who could blabber on in cliches to the press and handle all the small things Paxson is not fond of doing, like Luol Deng's contract extension (how's that working out for ya, Bulls?). Now, Paxson mostly just sits in his office, periodically reappearing to remind everyone he's in charge, sort of.

IN THE OTHER CORNER, Vinny Del Negro, the current overmatched coach of the Chicago Bulls who looks like a younger version of Shooter from Hoosiers. Del Negro was hired two years ago despite having no coaching experience of any kind, mostly because he came cheaper than Mike D'Antoni. Earlier this year, Del Negro was fired, except then he wasn't, because, well, the Bulls are strange. Now, he's scared to fight back because he's worried the Bulls will void his contract. (Too bad Gilbert Arenas didn't think of this).

WHO WINS? Everyone, because this story is hilarious. Well, everyone except Bulls fans.

It's funny to Bulls fans as well

As funny as it is irritating. We know Del Negro is incompetent. We know Paxson has a temper that only unleashes itself in a HULK-like way – see Phil Jackson’s first memoirs. Paxson has a mean streak that he didn’t expect to show itself often in management as it would have if he had become a coach (like Phil wanted him to). Well, it hasn’t been often, but it sure as sunshine dawned itself upon Del Negro last month.

The Paxson vs Del Negro Match

Paxon needs to be subdued. It is apparent that he is out of control. Vinny experience at coaching may be limited and in that case take the appropriate action but Paxon needs to keep his Gator Shut! Sooner or later Paxon’s temper is going to get his wig split!

Paxson........what a punchline

Paxson needs to come out of his hole and take some responsibility…..I dont particularly like VDN and he cant really coach a lick, but wtf they hired him after the debacle with D’Antoni, they knew VDN had no coaching experience he was a low level exec with the Suns……

Paxson has made bad move after bad move starting with signing a washed up disinterested Ben Wallace, handing out contracts like that to Loul Deng, now he hides behind his mouth piece Forman and does stuff like this, undermining his coach all the way because they dont have the honesty to get rid of him and pay him out

the Bulls are poorly coached no doubt, but heck at least VDN has shown some class and has got the bulls, with a pretty horrific roster and injuries to the play offs………probably get rewarded by giving him the arse at the end of the year

wait to a go
